Day 43: Albert Bertini
What do you do for a living?
I’m a property owner. I own islands and major projects worldwide. I am also a part-time musician.
What do you do to feel alive?
I put a lot of time and energy into my family and my wife Renee.
A lesson you learned from your mother:
The best lesson I learned from mom is that there will always be things that will shock you and traumatize you in life – never forget them.
A lesson you learned from your father:
What a great question. I learned to be a father to my father.
What’s the most beautiful thing you saw today?
When I woke up this morning my wife was still sleeping and she had her whole body covered with blankets except one leg sticking out and I saw her five toe nails with black polish – they were so beautiful. I wanted to jump back into bed and make love to her. Shit I didn’t!
What’s one thing you wouldn’t want anyone to take away from you?
My children. Something that they already have, but I’m getting them back.
What’s a thought you would like to never have again?
There are none. Your past is your best friend if you learn from it and understand it.
If you could become an inanimate object what would it be?
What a great question. F**k. A sign of the tattoo I have on my back. I use it for my campaign against child trafficking. It’s a symbol about good and evil.
When do you feel most loved?
I always do
If your life were to end tomorrow what would be left undone?
Giving my wife a child.
What global issue would you take on if you didn’t have to worry about how?
I’m already doing it through my organization MOSAIC (Modern Slavery Abolishment) I’m spending millions every year to to stop child trafficking worldwide.
What’s the scariest thing that ever happened to you?
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was about 25 years ago when I woke up one morning and looked at my face in the mirror. That’s the day that I saw the devil in my eyes. They were flaming.
