Issue 7: Questions

Questions-Cover---Final-Draft
For the Questions issue we are turning our focus from the outside world and bringing it inward. Each day for 100 days we will step out into the world and meet with one person. We will ask each person we meet the same 12 questions. At the end of 100 days we hope to capture our collective voice within this interwoven web of dialog.

What do you do for a living?

I am a 5 Rhythms movement meditation facilitator

What do you do to feel alive?

I dance and reconnect to nature – to sun, to ocean, to earth – to the elements. I also live in Costa Rica 8 months out of the year.

A lesson you learned from your mother:

To multi-task with grace

A lesson you learned from your father:

My work ethic – drive, focus, tenacity – staying with craft and perfecting it.

What’s the most beautiful thing you saw today?

During my last dance class a mother brought her 10-month-old baby – and she was in the middle of the chaos dancing – finding her own beat. Also witnessing the intimate dances of everyone in that same room – the joy, the tear, the connection.

What’s one thing you wouldn’t want anyone to take away from you?

My freedom

What thought would you like to never have again?

I am not enough

If you could become an inanimate object what would it be?

A crystal chandelier where all the colors are present

When do you feel most loved?

When I feel physical connection with the “beloved”, but the beloved can show up in many forms – on the dance floor – after making love – but for me it’s a physical experience and when I’m dancing I’m in the state of self love.

If your life were to end tomorrow what would be left undone?

Being able to be a real catalyst for peace within my blood family. I haven’t found the bridge to invite them into a more peaceful existence. And To become a mother.

What global issue would you take on if you didn’t have to worry about how?

Children – being housed and cared for – being parented and loved. Giving all children a sense of belonging.

What’s the scariest thing that ever happened to you?

I almost drove myself and one of my beloved off a cliff in Big Sur. We were close, very close, to the edge, and I still relive that moment.
