Day 9: Teresa Koprek
What do you do for a living?
Private Elderly Care Assistant. On Saturdays I set up a booth at the Farmer’s Market and sell my homemade vegan soups.
What do you do to feel alive?
I enjoy my work.
A lesson you learned from your mother:
It was so long ago…how to take care of everyone. How to learn fast and to take pride in your work.
A lesson you learned from your father:
My father got sick when I was 13. He needed to be taken care of 24 hours a day. I guess I learned from taking care of him.
What’s the most beautiful thing you saw today?
Talking to people at the Farmer’s Market and seeing their smiling faces.
What’s one thing you wouldn’t want anyone to take away from you?
My daughter
What thought would you like to never have again?
A lot. My life with my husband. He’s dead now. I’m free and capable to do anything I want now. I wouldn’t want any woman to experience that.
If you could become an inanimate object what would it be?
I don’t know
When do you feel most loved?
When I see my daughter
If your life were to end tomorrow what would be left undone?
I try to make my life happy and not make problems for anyone. I am fulfilled.
What global issue would you take on if you didn’t have to worry about how?
Peace
What’s the scariest thing that ever happened to you?
Being dependent on my husband who was trying to kill me.
